Sonderausstellung von Richard Caston in Kaiserswerth, 21. März – 13. April.

Der Maler und Kunstpädagoge Richard Caston (1946, UK) feiert in Kaiserswerth zwei aussergewöhnliche Jubiläen: einen runden Geburtstag und 70 Jahre Malerei. Seit 1974 lebt und arbeitet Caston in Deutschland.

Die Ausstellung zeigt Landschaftsmalerei der letzten 25 Jahre – vielfach en plein air entstanden- sowie Castons erste Ölmalerei aus dem Jahr 1955. Im Mittelpunkt steht die lebenslange Auseinandersetzung des Künstlers mit Natur, Licht und Wahrnehmung. Ergänzt wird die Ausstellung durch ausgewählte Leporellos, die Einblicke in seinen künstlerischen Arbeitsprozess geben.

Inspired by Crivelli’s “The Madonna of the Swallow”, the mural depicts several historical and biblical figures set in an imaginary garden. The figures include the Virgin Mary, Saint Catherine, Mary Magdalene and Delilah. Paula Rego died in 2022.
